Doc Rudolph “Rudi” Bermel, ASC Driver Training´s chief medical trainer, was killed in a road accident when a local driver crashed head-on into his car in Oman on August 22nd 2014. During his 30 year tenure as an emergency doctor, Rudi has returned countless accident victims to Germany, and he regularly reminded us and our students that driving in a foreign country is of much higher risk than going to a war zone. Even when sitting in the back of a taxi, Rudi would always buckle up and encourage others to do so as well.

We have lost a dear colleague and an unreplaceable friend. May his soul rest in peace.
