The partially redesigned 200-Series is also the first model to receive Toyota’s flagship active safety package, Toyota Safety Sense P. The safety package will include, Pre Collision with pedestrian detection system which uses millimeter-wave radar and a single lens camera to detect pedestrians and vehicles. The system incorporates the use of audio and visual alerts to minimize chances of a collision along with brake assist if the driver fails to apply the brakes on time. The brake assist is operational in speeds from 10 km/h (6.2 mph) up to 80 km/h (49.7 mph).

The Lane Departure Alert (LDA) makes use of a camera to detect the white and yellow lane markings on the road. The driver will be notified with an audio and visual alert if the vehicle begins to drift off course. The safety package will also include Automatic high Beam (AHB) that uses a camera to detect oncoming vehicle’s headlights and tail lights of vehicles ahead, automatically switching between high beam and low beam to avoid dazzling other motorists.

The Land Cruiser 200 will also feature additional driver assistance systems like, multi-terrain monitor to assess conditions around the vehicle. It will have a capability to check the position of the tires while off-roading with the use of a camera mounted under the floor. Also a front-view rotating camera will be offered to check the inclination and road surface ahead of the vehicle. Toyota claims both these features debuting on the Land Cruiser are a ‘world-first’. Additionally all model trims will be equipped with a, Blind Spot Monitor that uses radar, Rear Cross Traffic Alert system and Tire Pressure Warning System.

The exterior of the Land Cruiser 200 received a new design to depict ‘functional beauty’. It has a new chrome surround grille with three horizontal bars and metallic embellishments extending into the LED headlamps. The rear of the full size SUV has updated combination tail lamps that have been connected by a larger chrome strip. The interiors feature a new layout with switches that have been grouped together for ease of access and lot of other revisions. Six LED backlit meters display vehicle information for the driver while the center console gets a 4.2 inch TFT color LCD screen. The interiors also feature the incorporation of higher quality materials with better textures. The interior can be specified in four colors including a new brown shade.
